I never aspired to be an author.

Writing a book wasn’t on my list of dreams or ambitions, and honestly, I had a fulfilling life without it. I’d built a great career in corporate leadership, raised two wonderful daughters, and had a happy, stable life. At 54, I thought I had everything figured out—a clear identity, solid beliefs, and a roadmap for the years ahead.

Then came the message.

It arrived unexpectedly — a simple note from a man who claimed to be my father.

You need to know I am your father.”

That one sentence marked the beginning of a seismic shift in my life.
I call it “the life jolt.”

It wasn’t just the shock of the message itself — it was how it cracked open everything I thought I knew about who I was.
My identity, my family, my beliefs — all suddenly felt untethered.

The Questions That Followed

What else might I not know about myself? About my life?

Those questions ignited a curiosity I hadn't felt in decades.

That curiosty became a guide.

It led me to explore deeper truths about identity, belonging, and purpose.

What does identity mean? What is family? Why are we here?

The Awakening

At the core of this journey was love — the light that connects us all.

The path wasn’t easy. I lost my 30-year corporate career, a cornerstone of my identity.
But looking back, it felt as if the universe was clearing space for something new — a calling I had resisted for years.

I began to see my life not as a series of disruptions but as a carefully orchestrated "shake-up to wake-up."

A Story Waiting to Be Told

One day, I felt an undeniable pull to share my story.

Through writing, I realized that the "perfect life" I thought I'd built was only part of the truth.

The other part the one I had ignored for so long was my true self,

that glowing soul beneath all those identities we wear to navgiate the world.

And that's where shaken awake was born.
